  Today is World Backup Day, with the great tagline of “Don’t be an April Fool Tomorrow check your backups and restores today”.  Backups and restores should be checked more then once per year but it’s a great reminder for people that they seriously need to consider having a backup system in place to avoid disasters to their data. Xmarks Survives

In a previous post I said that Xmarks; an excellent bookmark backup and sync service was in danger of being shut down. Recently the company announced that they have been purchased by LastPass a online password manager service. This seems to be a good fit for both companies and will ensure that users will still keep the ability to synchronize and backup bookmarks across browsers.

Speaking at PhotoCamp London

Just a very quick post to say I’ll be speaking on Saturday Sept 11th at PhotoCamp London. My presentation is titled, Backups For Photographers A Necessary Evil.
