Apple released iOS6 today and people are already updating their various devices to the new OS.  I’ve just finished updating my iPhone 4s. It is working but there was some issues which I feel it might be worth waiting a day or two for a patch before updating.

Main problem is that many people have been reporting problems connecting to their Wi-Fi networks. A quick search of the Apple support boards show several different solutions. The one I found that worked for me was when first connecting, wait for the phone to finish looking for Wi-Fi networks. At that point select the network you want to connect to.

Update: Apple said this was a web issue not related to IOS6

Other issues which may take a bit longer to solve is the data that Yelp/Siri has on local businesses.  Doing a search for McDonald’s brings the closest restaurant in Michigan. Doing a store for bookstores brings up one store that has been closed for at least 8 years.

I didn’t notice any difference in speed but it’s been very early in the process.

Hopefully we should see a patch in the next few days to solve the wifi problem. If you don’t feel like jumping though hoops then wait a day or so.
